On Wednesday, the red carpet will be dusted off and rolled out once again for the 2025 ARIA Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sure, the night is all about celebrating Aussie music<\/a>, but who doesn’t love seeing what the stars wear for their big night out?<\/p>\n

The Aria red carpet<\/a> is often a good reflection of fashion at the time, so let’s take a look back at what some of our favourite Aussie music icons wore for their first time at the event.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Kylie Minogue\ufeff\"KylieKylie Minogue attended her first ARIAs in 1989, wearing a navy blue monochromatic outfit. (Getty)<\/p>\n

The year \ufeffwas 1989, and Australia’s emerging pop princess was riding high on her chart success after swapping Neighbours for the music world.<\/p>\n

The ARIA Awards themselves were also pretty fresh, having only begun two years earlier in 1987.<\/p>\n

For her first \ufefftime at music’s night of nights, Kylie Minogue wore an all-navy ensemble, teaming a cinched blazer with what appears to be a fringed dress with lace sleeves.<\/p>\n

It wouldn’t be an ’80s outfit without a bit of razzle dazzle.<\/p>\n

For Minogue, that came in the form of her blazer’s lapels, which were elevated with some gold floral embroidery.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Tina Arena<\/p>\n

Young Talent Time starlet-turned-pop star Tina Arena was a lady in red at the 1991 ARIAs.<\/p>\n

The Chains singer wore a red dress with a row of feathers lining the hem and cuffs.<\/p>\n

She styled the minidress with a curly updo and a gold and red necklace.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Arena was pictured at the event with fellow singers Wendy Matthews and Margaret Ulrich.\ufeff<\/p>\n

My Island Home singer \ufeffChristine Anu embraced the minimalist style of the mid-’90s for her night out at the 1996 ARIA Awards.<\/p>\n

The star wore a chic white strapless dress with thigh-high splits, teamed with a gold and white necklace.<\/p>\n

Anu left the event with another shiny accessory: the ARIA for Best Female Artist!\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffDelta Goodrem\"DeltaDelta Goodrem was pretty in pink back in 2003. (Getty)<\/p>\n

There’s no question Delta Goodrem dominated the 2003 ARIAs.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old made quite the debut, winning a whopping seven awards for her first album Innocent Eyes.<\/p>\n

For her first ARIA Awards, Goodrem wore a pale pink dress with sparkling details, including fine bedazzled straps running down the dress and draped across her arm and chest.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe event was not only Goodrem’s first ARIA Awards, but also her first public appearance following her diagnosis with Hodgkin’s lymphoma<\/a> months earlier.<\/p>\n

“It’s like a light at the end of the tunnel, you just kept looking, kept thinking, ‘The ARIAs are coming up’,” the singer said of the leadup to the event.<\/p>\n

\ufeffShe’s a mainstay at major Aussie events now, but back in 2006, Jessica Mauboy was a rising star attending her very first ARIAs.<\/p>\n

Walking the red carpet with her fellow Australian Idol contestants, the singer \u2013 who would go on to come second in the competition a month later \ufeff\u2013 wore a dark grey dress with sparkling details along the neckline.<\/p>\n

The completed the look with a glittering statement necklace, an updo and that Mauboy smile we’ve all come to know and love.<\/p>\n

Ella Hooper\ufeff<\/p>\n

In 1999, teenager Ella Hooper exploded to fame as the frontwoman of Killing Heidi \u2013 admired as much for her cool futuristic aesthetic as she was for her voice.<\/p>\n

Attending her first ARIAs a year later in 2000, Hooper was true to her style, wearing a metallic dress with cutouts that criss-crossed her upper body.<\/p>\n

Completing the very Y2K vibe, the Mascara singer added a splash of purple and blue through her hair and makeup.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Marcia Hines<\/p>\n

It seems metallic fashion ruled at the 2000 ARIA Awards!<\/p>\n

Music legend Marcia Hines brought serious glomesh vibes with her outfit that year.<\/p>\n

The singer was decked out in gold sparkles\ufeff, with denim peeking through a cutout section.<\/p>\n

The most iconic ARIA Awards red carpet moments of all time<\/p>\n

The Veronicas<\/p>\n

We see plenty of couple-dressing on red carpets, but not nearly enough twin fashion.\ufeff Thankfully, The Veronicas have always scratched that itch.<\/p>\n

Attending their very first ARIAs in 2005, Jess and Lisa Origliasso embraced a not-quite-matching aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Both wore mini dresses with patterned stockings and heels, just in slightly different shades.<\/p>\n

Of course, it wouldn’t be \ufeffthe mid-2000s without a pop of colour, which the Untouched singers delivered with their shoes and one statement belt.<\/p>\n

Scar singer Missy Higgins kept things simple and sweet for her ARIAs debut.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The star was dressed almost entirely in black, save for a cream crocheted tank top, and embraced a very noughties trend: layering.<\/p>\n

\ufeffVanessa Amorosi<\/p>\n

Absolutely Everybody had their eyes on Vanessa Amorosi as she arrived at the \ufeff2000 ARIAs.<\/p>\n

Then 19, the singer had burst onto the charts the previous year with hits like Have A Look, Absolutely Everybody and Shine.<\/p>\n

Amorosi’s ARIAs debut came weeks after she performed at the Sydney 2000 Olympics closing ceremony, making her mark on Aussie pop culture history.<\/p>\n

\ufeffShe hit the red carpet in a black outfit, including a statement coat with a dizzying gold metallic pattern.<\/p>\n
