After a few days in a row of bad weather, we had less than 10 minutes of clear sky to capture new images of comet C\/2025 K1 ATLAS, clearly detecting three fragments of the original nucleus and possibly a fourth one.

The image above comes from the sigma-clipping combination of 7, 60-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME<\/a> robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project in Manciano, Italy. We had just the time to captures that handful of frames before clouds covered the whole sky.<\/p>\n

We clearly see the main fragments we tracked earlier, but with hints of a possible fourth piece, as indicated below.<\/p>\n
