Broncos NRL and NRLW Premiership winners Corey Jensen, Tamika Upton, Romy Teitzel and Brianna Clark have taken the 2025 trophies back to where their rugby league journeys began, as the Broncos Trophy Tour, Driven by Kia Tasman, continues across Queensland.

The regional leg of the tour kicked off in Cairns on November 10 and has since travelled through Tully, Townsville, Bowen, Mackay, Sarina, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Blackwater and Emerald, with visits to local schools, Kia dealerships and junior rugby league clubs.

Along the way, players reconnected with the communities that shaped them — from singing old school songs to catching up with former teachers, coaches and families.

Teitzel, who grew up in Tully, returned to Tully State High School before stopping in for lunch at her family’s local IGA.

She said bringing both trophies home was a moment she’ll never forget.

“Growing up in north Queensland as a kid, you only dream of seeing these things in real life,” she said.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would take an NRL and an NRLW trophy back to Tully.

“It’s an opportunity to repay our families, our communities and everyone who has played a part in our journey.”

Further south, Jensen visited his former schools — Ignatius Park College in Townsville and Queens Beach State School in Bowen — where students chanted his name as he walked in.

He said returning home reminded him of how far he has come.

“Growing up in Bowen, when you say you want to play in the NRL, a lot of people say you’ve got Buckley’s chance,” he said.

“That stuck with me from a young age and I wanted to prove a lot of people wrong, I had a lot of belief in myself, even through the ups and downs.

To come back and share those stories is special to me, and I hope the kids take something from it.

Meanwhile, Upton capped off a fairytale homecoming to the Broncos by joining the tour through central Queensland where her and fellow Bronco home comer – Ben Hunt – first grew their love for rugby league.

The trophies travelled to Rockhampton, Gladstone, Dingo, Blackwater, Emerald, Alpha, Barcaldine and finished the leg by joining an online class with the Longreach School of Distance Education.

Upton said she hopes the tour inspires the next generation of central Queensland girls to chase their rugby league dreams.

“We stopped in at the family servo, which was great, but the best part was seeing the kids — their faces light up when they see the trophy,” she said.

Everyone knows the talent that comes out of central Queensland, so I’m really excited to see what the future holds.

“Women’s footy is growing year on year… we’re hoping to see more CQ girls in the NRLW system.

“Driving past the Bluff Rabbitohs and seeing the Crushers’ fields — it was really cool to see where it all began for me, it was very nostalgic.”

The Broncos Trophy Tour continues next week with stops in Dalby and Roma, with more details to be announced soon.

Broncos NRL and NRLW Premiership winners Corey Jensen, Tamika Upton, Romy Teitzel and Brianna Clark have taken the…

[568
64,63,761,762,158,85
post-294243","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nrl","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-national-rugby-league","tag-nationalrugbyleague","tag-nrl","tag-sports
["GET
