Turns out Kate Winslet was hopping on the naked dress trend way before it became commonplace on the red carpet, and wore an entirely sheer look to meet none other than King Charles.<\/p>\n
The actor recalled meeting Charles at the 1996 premiere of Sense and Sensibility in London, telling Jimmy Kimmel “The first time I met him. Oh my goodness. He had come to support the royal premiere of Sense and Sensibility when I was 20. I sort of hadn\u2019t realized we were really going to meet him. So I forgot about the fact that I really was wearing a kind of transparent lace outfit.”<\/p>\n

She added, “Thank God I\u2019d worn a coat because as he\u2019s making his way towards me, I\u2019m like, ‘Nipples! Nipples! Nipples! Oh, my God.’ And then someone just went, ‘Coat!’ and I went [*puts coat on*] ‘Your Majesty.'” <\/p>\n

Kate also spoke about meeting His Majesty with Meryl Streep at the King\u2019s Foundation Awards ceremony over the summer, saying they were confused about curtsying protocol. <\/p>\n
“There was a conversation about this. So, Meryl and I, as we were walking to meet the king, she says to me, ‘Do you think we have to curtsy?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely, we have to curtsy,'” Kate said. “She was like, ‘okay, is it, like, a big curtsy? What do we do?’ I said, ‘I don\u2019t know. We\u2019ll just make the motion.’ She was like, ‘I don\u2019t know if we need to do that.’ There was a big panic. We didn\u2019t know what the form was. Obviously, we had to curtsy. Did I go first? I think I did. But then I\u2019m always trying to volunteer to go first because I feel like leadership is important and someone has to get it wrong, and it\u2019s usually me that does, so I don\u2019t mind taking the hit.”<\/p>\n
