The 2016 world champion interrupted Sky Sports\u2019 Martin Brundle mid-gridwalk at Spa to question Verstappen Sr., who had just offered a lukewarm response when asked about the team\u2019s leadership shake-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they decided to change, so I\u2019m fine with everything. So as long as it works,\u201d Verstappen told Brundle.<\/p>\n

But Rosberg quickly interjected: \u201cLast year, you said Horner needs to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Verstappen replied: \u201cThat was one and a half years ago. It\u2019s different. I have nothing to say. It\u2019s fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rosberg followed up: \u201cNow you\u2019re quiet?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always quiet,\u201d Verstappen quipped, prompting Brundle to swiftly change the topic.<\/p>\n

The icy moment came just weeks after Horner was sensationally removed as Red Bull team principal<\/a> and CEO, with Laurent Mekies taking over the reins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jos Verstappen had been a vocal critic of Horner in the past, particularly during the sexting scandal in early 2024 that rocked the team.<\/p>\n

At the time, Verstappen told MailOnline that Horner was \u201cplaying the victim\u201d and \u201ccausing the problems,\u201d warning the team \u201ccan\u2019t go on the way it is\u201d and that it would \u201cexplode\u201d if Horner stayed in charge.<\/p>\n

That friction fuelled speculation that the Verstappen camp \u2014 including both Max and Jos \u2014 played a role in Horner\u2019s eventual departure.<\/p>\n

Brundle previously claimed they were \u201clobbing in hand grenades\u201d behind the scenes and described Jos as acting like \u201cthe team principal of Red Bull\u201d since early 2024.<\/p>\n

While Jos has remained publicly silent on Horner\u2019s exit and Max downplayed its impact, insisting last week the decision won\u2019t affect his future with the team.<\/p>\n

The Hungarian Grand Prix takes place this weekend.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
