\n\tGoo Goo Dolls<\/a> delivered their biggest hits and a pair of lesser-known cuts during the band\u2019s first-ever visit to NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk.<\/p>\n \n\tJohn Rzeznik and company opened their set with Hot 100-topping single \u201cSlide,\u201d off 1998\u2019s Dizzy Up the Girl, which is still a favorite. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Is Vampire Weekend behind us?’\u201d Rzeznik quipped after the rapturous applause from the NPR staff.<\/p>\n \n\tThe group then shifted to more obscure territory with \u201cFeel the Silence,\u201d off an album that Rzeznik briefly had trouble remembering; it\u2019s from 1996\u2019s Let Love In (\u201cIf you don\u2019t know that one, go check it out, there\u2019s some good stuff,\u201d Rzeznik added) with the vocalist then singing the praises of that LP\u2019s producer Glen Ballard.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m a little nervous, because we could all be on a first name basis,\u201d Rzeznik told the small crowd, adding that the Tiny Desk was even more \u201cintimidating\u201d than playing a festival of 100,000 people, as that crowd is further away and more anonymous.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tGoo Goo Dolls then performed their 2025 single \u201cNot Goodbye (Close My Eyes)\u201d off the band\u2019s \u2014 album? Or EP? \u2014 Summer Anthem (even Rzeznik was unsure what to classify the collection of seven new songs they put out this year). However, the singer did reveal that the group is already working on a follow-up to that album and\/or EP.<\/p>\n \n\tThe band closed out their 20-minute set with their enduring 1998 hit \u201cIris,\u201d which in recent years has been covered by the likes of Demi Lovato<\/a>, Phoebe Bridgers<\/a>, and Billy Joel<\/a> in addition to its placement in Deadpool & Wolverine.
