Broncos star Ezra Mam has assured, much to the chagrin of his hecklers, that his undivided attention is on improving his game before finals.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has been a polarising figure since returning from a nine-match suspension for driving with drugs in his system and causing a head-on collision that injured two adults and an infant.<\/p>\n

Having now played eight matches in the Broncos<\/a> first-grade side since the 2024 incident, Mam has been routinely booed by fans.<\/p>\n

And while he can\u2019t control what fans think of him, he hopes things will change over time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not really taking notice of that,\u201d Mam said of the boos.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy role is to be playing footy<\/a>, while I\u2019m on the field that\u2019s what I\u2019m purely focused on.<\/p>\n

\u201cFans are what makes the game very entertaining.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure within time people will change the way that they feel, if they don\u2019t then I can\u2019t really control that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After being beaten by spoon contenders, Parramatta<\/a>, Broncos fans have been left scratching their heads.<\/p>\n

Being heralded as Brisbane\u2019s own Avengers, the \u2018super six\u2019, including Mam, failed to spark a dominant performance in what was supposed to be a wipeout on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Mam has seen patches of sporadic brilliance in the 2025 season but is hoping to improve on his ordinary ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cNarrowing the difference between my worst performance and my best performance, that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to keep doing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As he prepares for his 200th game with the club, teammate and milestone man Ben Hunt backed Mam.<\/p>\n

\u201cEzra has handled it well, I think he\u2019s done everything he has to, to warrant some respect and get on with his life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Hunt mentioned that for the club to succeed in the pointy end of this season everyone will have a job to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve only had one week with our full side together \u2026 I know we can iron some things out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019m back and got a bit of match fitness, I need to start contributing a lot more with the ball,\u201d<\/p>\n

When questioned on his other inconsistent teammate and negative media magnet, Reece Walsh, Hunt insisted the fullback has only the best intentions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing is with Reece is, he\u2019s the ultimate competitor, he wants to win more than anything,\u201d Hunt said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen things aren\u2019t going right for the team, he feels like he has to step up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to do our job so that he can only do his job.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Broncos will face the Rabbitohs<\/a> and former coach Wayne Bennett on Friday who are hungry after their narrow loss to the Sharks last week.<\/p>\n

If injuries allow, the \u2018super six\u2019 will get another go at putting the Broncos over the line.<\/p>\n
