Charli XCX<\/a> and Ariana Grande<\/a> need to add a seat at the pop star turned movie muse table for Sabrina Carpenter. Currently in the midst of her Short n\u2019 Sweet tour, the singer is inspiring Wicked producer Marc Platt in preparation for their upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie. \u201cWe sat down and we talked about it and I thought, She\u2019s such a talented young person,\u201d Platt told Variety<\/a> at the Wicked: For Good<\/a> New York premiere. \u201cAnd a voice! I love her music. She was smart and articulate and liked the journey that Alice goes on in the Lewis Carroll books, so I said, \u2018Let\u2019s take a shot at it.\u2019\u201d Carpenter helped come up with the new concept, and Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers<\/a>) is working on a script, but it\u2019s \u201cearly days\u201d in the movie\u2019s development, Platt said.<\/p>\n

But, if that doesn\u2019t work out for her, don\u2019t worry because Carpenter\u2019s got another appearance in her back pocket: Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried is trying to get her cast in Mamma Mia 3!. Seyfried told Entertainment Tonight<\/a>\u00a0she wants to grow the Mamma Mia! family onscreen. \u201cI love portraying a mom, so I would love to see Sophie with her kids,\u201d she said. \u201cMaybe she has a cousin she hasn\u2019t seen in a while, and that could be Sabrina Carpenter.\u201d Carpenter is a known ABBA fan \u2014 she went as the female members of the band for Halloween<\/a> this year with Saturday Night Live\u2019s Veronika Slowikowska \u2014 so the pairing is a match made in blonde heaven. \u201cThere\u2019s a bunch of girls that really want to be a part of it, and I\u2019m all for it,\u201d Seyfried added, also mentioning Sydney Sweeney.<\/p>\n

And if that doesn\u2019t work out, then there\u2019s always the ever-persistent rumor that she\u2019ll return to Disney to play Rapunzel in the live-action version of Tangled. Celebrity gossip monger Deuxmoi<\/a> has peddled those theories, and Carpenter herself fueled them by dressing as Rapunzel<\/a> for Halloween in 2023. Maybe she will be Disney\u2019s next prodigal daughter and return to her Girl Meets World roots.<\/p>\n
