Ames, Iowa\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Stanislava Shulzhenko<\/a>\u00a0and Mari Paz Alberto Vilar’s<\/a> historic doubles run ended on Thursday afternoon in the NCAA Doubles Championships Round of 16.\u00a0The pair became the first players in school history to make the NCAA Doubles\u00a0Championships and\u00a0added to it by winning their first-round game on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shulzhenko\u00a0and Alberto Vilar fought hard against USC’s Lily Fairclough and Daniela Borruel, but came up short in back-to-back set tiebreakers, falling by a score of 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5).\u00a0The pair will look to continue the momentum they set into the 2026 spring season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
