Shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures<\/a>, the parent company of trading platform Groww, plunged 8% on Thursday, marking the second consecutive day of losses. On Wednesday, the stock hit the 10% lower circuit.<\/p>\n

The stock fell 10% on Wednesday after surging for five consecutive sessions following its listing last week, during which it had climbed to 90% above its issue price of \u20b9100 per share.<\/p>\n

From its peak of \u20b9193.91, Groww share price is down nearly 21%. <\/p>\n

The company is set to release its first quarterly results on Friday, November 21 \u2014 a key event likely to influence investor sentiment around Groww\u2019s stock.<\/p>\n

Another significant milestone will follow on December 10, when the one-month shareholder lock-in period expires.<\/p>\n

Should you buy or sell?<\/p>\n

According to Nitin Jain, Sr. Research Analyst at Bonanza, Groww<\/a>‘s stock has seen a sharp run-up post-listing, taking its valuation well above those of many traditional capital market peers, raising questions around valuation comfort relative to the rest of the sector.<\/p>\n

“Its implied P\/E multiple at IPO was estimated around 33\u201337x, which is elevated compared to established players like Motilal Oswal, and Angel One, most of whom trade at notably lower multiples. Currently, Groww is trading at a P\/E of 61x, whereas its peers \u2014 Motilal Oswal (29x), Angel One (33x), Nuvama Wealth (26x), IIFL Wealth \u2014 are trading far below Groww<\/a>\u2019s current valuation. The stock is now valued at over \u20b91 lakh crore, outpacing several older capital market companies,” Jain said.<\/p>\n

He further explained that the company has certainly run well ahead of most listed capital market players on valuation, justified mainly on the promise of digital scale and future product expansion.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor value-oriented investors, current levels might demand caution, while growth-focused believers could still justify the premium if long-term projections are met,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
