Damian Hurley has slammed claims he has grown distant from his megastar mother Liz Hurley, amid her blossoming romance with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. <\/p>\n
The 23-year-old British actor and model took to Instagram on Thursday to directly address the chatter, using the moment to thank his “modern family”,\u00a0 including the children of the late Shane Warne, for their “love and support.”<\/p>\n
“I’ve been in the public eye since the day I was born and I rarely comment on anything written about me or my family, but recent stories are so startlingly unture that I want to offer a little clarity,” Hurley wrote on his Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n
He didn’t name any specific outlet, but talk of tension has been bubbling since reports suggested he and his mother had grown apart following her relationship announcement with Cyrus in April.<\/a><\/p>\n It was also claimed Damian had moved out of Liz’s London home and that the 60-year-old actress had been spending increasing time in the US with her Tennessee-based beau, 64.<\/p>\n “For the record: I adore @billraycycrus and think he’s one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met,” Damian continued.<\/p>\n “I love seeing my mum so happy. Billy’s kids are also adorable and everyone gets along beautifully, any claims to the contrary are yawn inducing and tediously untrue.”<\/p>\n Damian went on to describe the blended nature of his life, giving a nod to his “cherished father Arun (Nayar)” and celebrating his “wonderful step siblings” Brooke, Summer and Jackson, whom the cricket legend shared with ex-wife Simone Callahan.\u00a0<\/p>\n “I feel blessed every day to be surrounded by so much love and support,” he wrote.<\/p>\n “I’m grateful for the truth we live, despite the stories others try to write for us.”<\/p>\n Liz quickly reshared the post to her own account, backing her son’s statement.<\/p>\n The Austin Powers star was married to Nayar from 2007 to 2011 and later engaged to Warne from 2011 to 2013.<\/p>\n Both Liz and Damian maintained deep friendships with Nayar and Warne long after the romantic chapters ended, right up until Warne’s sudden death from a heart attack at age 52 in March 2022.<\/a><\/p>\n
