Police investigating the alleged murder of an Adelaide father-of-two say they have now found a ute that was captured on CCTV at the site where the victim’s body was discovered, describing the development as a “significant breakthrough”.<\/p>\n
Moana man Chris Robertson was found dead at a Lonsdale premises on September 30, three days after he was last seen alive celebrating with friends on the AFL Grand Final weekend.<\/p>\n
Police said a post-mortem examination revealed the 49-year-old died “as a result of injuries sustained during a severe assault”.<\/p>\n

Last month, they revealed they were searching for a grey Mitsubishi Triton utility they said was captured on CCTV at the Lonsdale workshop the day after Mr Robertson was last seen.<\/p>\n
Police today said Major Crime Investigation Branch officers had found the vehicle at a property in Cherry Gardens in the Adelaide Hills south of the city and had seized it for “extensive forensic examination”.<\/p>\n
“The recovery of this vehicle is a significant breakthrough in our investigation into Chris’s murder,” Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said in a statement.<\/p>\n
“Detectives will now focus on how the Triton got to this location and the people who assisted in moving it.”<\/p>\n

As part of that effort, police appealed to the public for information.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We urge anyone who saw this vehicle in the Cherry Gardens area or has any knowledge of its movements between Sunday 28 September and today to contact us immediately,” Superintendent Fielke said.<\/p>\n
Police said the investigation “remains active, and detectives continue to pursue several lines of inquiry”.<\/p>\n
They have urged anyone with information about the alleged murder or the ute to contact Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n
