Collin Morikawa had a quieter 2025 than many expected, with the multiple major champ not getting in the winning circle this season on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

Despite some frustrations on the course, Morikawa did make Keegan Bradley\u2019s U.S. Ryder Cup side at Bethpage Black, and now looking to recapture his best form, the American has made an interesting change to his irons.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Foreplay<\/a>, Morikawa revealed that he has just added 2-degrees of loft to every iron in his bag, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cCrazy enough, I just added two degrees to every iron as of yesterday. Two degrees of loft.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been under-spinning everything. Spin is the most important thing to control. The best players, whenever I\u2019ve talked to a guy like Scottie, or Rahm was really good at it, spin, if you know how you\u2019re spinning it, you know how far the ball\u2019s going to go. Off-season, I was screwing around so I just bent all my clubs yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morikawa has also experimented on the greens as of late after enduring a tough year with the flatstick in 2025. A couple of months ago, the 28-year-dropped his old\u00a0TaylorMade TP Soto from the bag in favor of a TaylorMade Tour V head with a center shaft, and he has also been known to use the claw grip on the greens.<\/p>\n

In reference to him using the claw grip, Morikawa told the show that he was not soley a user of the claw putting technique:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I don\u2019t know what I am honestly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Oh yeah (switching mid-round). The reason why I keep switching is I find certain things in one grip that feels comfortable and it does something really well, and then another grip \u2013 so the claw for me, I have really good face control, but I come out of my putts a lot too.<\/p>\n

Morikawa added:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when I go conventional, it rolls a lot better, but my aiming becomes worse. So the next couple of months, I\u2019m going to make sure I figure it out and stick with one versus changing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bad thing, but I used to go to college events with three putters.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two-time major champ ranked 153rd on the PGA Tour for Strokes Gained: Putting in 2025.<\/p>\n
