{"id":30032,"date":"2025-07-29T13:16:03","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T13:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/30032\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T13:16:03","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T13:16:03","slug":"marc-marquez-points-to-big-mistakes-and-how-he-overcame-them-to-dominate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/30032\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc Marquez points to \u201cbig mistakes\u201d &#8211; and how he overcame them to dominate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MotoGP championship leader Marc Marquez says his early-season crashes were \u201cbig mistakes\u201d but acknowledges that \u201cwe are not perfect\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>After 12 rounds, the 32-year-old has runaway with the championship lead, building a 120-point buffer after eight grand prix victories and 11 sprint wins.<\/p>\n<p>He has already broken the record for the most sprint wins in a season as well as for the most 37-point weekends in a single campaign, and is on course to win a seventh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> title well before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>But it has not been a trouble-free season for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a>, who suffered several costly falls in the early part of the year.<\/p>\n<p>He crashed while leading comfortably at the Americas Grand Prix, and fell again while in a position to fight for the win at the Spanish Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>On both occasions, he would lose the championship lead to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/935450\/alex-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Marquez<\/a>, albeit only by a single point.<\/p>\n<p>Marquez fell again during the British Grand Prix while leading, but a fortunately-timed red flag for a separate incident allowed him to restart and finish third.<\/p>\n<p>Since the British Grand Prix, however, Marquez has scored five consecutive 37-point weekends to take control in the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Marquez mentions his &#8216;big mistakes&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on his season at the summer break, Marquez said: \u201cWas quite a perfect first part of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were some mistakes, big mistakes.
