Jenna Lyons<\/a> is leaving\u00a0The Real Housewives of New York City<\/a>\u00a0after joining the cast in Season 14<\/a>. The entrepreneur and founder of LoveSeen<\/a> appeared on two seasons of\u00a0RHONY\u00a0before announcing her departure on Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Jenna took to Instagram<\/a> on Friday, where she released a statement regarding her exit from\u00a0RHONY\u00a0Season 16. Jenna wrote, in the caption of the post, “The rumors….are true.”<\/p>\n

“So here’s the backstory,” she continued. “I was grateful to be asked to join Season 16 of RHONY as a ‘friend of’ – knowing my personal life was not really available to be filmed, we agreed that made sense. And after thinking it through, I have made the difficult decision not to return to the show. I would be the oldest and only openly gay woman<\/a> on the show and feel like this is an opportunity for a new dynamic to emerge.”<\/p>\n

She noted that she loves “the girls” who served as cast members during her time on the show, tagging Erin Lichy<\/a>, Jessel Taank<\/a>, Sai de Silva<\/a>, Ubah Hassan<\/a>, and Racquel Chevremont<\/a> in the caption of the post.<\/p>\n

Jenna continued in the caption of the post, expressing her gratitude for\u00a0Real Housewives\u00a0executive producer<\/a>, Andy Cohen<\/a>. “I have so much respect and gratitude to the entire BRAVO team who produced the show with grace and care,” she wrote. “I am so grateful to [Andy Cohen] for the opportunity and support.”<\/p>\n
