A special Shaun Micallef\u2019s Christmas Eve of Destruction will be the last in the series for ABC, with the show not renewed for 2026.<\/p>\n
The episode will feature Steph Tisdell and Luke McGregor showing Shaun the gifts they received during Christmases past and have treasured ever since. It will also include John Foreman and Ella Hooper.<\/p>\n
But Micallef is back in 2026 with a 3 part documentary.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this stage there are no plans to return Eve of Destruction, but we\u2019re very happy that he\u2019s taken on Shaun Micallef\u2019s Going for Broke,\u201d ABC Director of Screen Jennifer Collins told TV Tonight.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a critical issue for us to explore through our documentary department. (Australia is) the biggest gamblers, and I think On the Sauce where he explored Australia\u2019s association with alcohol and now doing Gambling is timely, and no one better than Shaun Micallef to tackle that one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shaun Micallef\u2019s Eve of Destruction was recently nominated in the International Format Awards in Cannes.<\/p>\n
