Supercars street circuit plans revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE dream of Supercars racing in downtown Perth in 2028 is one step closer to reality, with a commitment from the Western Australian Government to build a new, multi-purpose precinct named \u2018Perth Park\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>At the heart of the plans is a 12-turn, 3.4km-long FIA Grade 3 temporary circuit, which will include strategically placed spectator mounds.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve the layout, Roger McKay Drive in the parkland adjacent to Optus Stadium will be realigned.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh renders propose a multi-use venue that, outside of the Supercars\u2019 event, would be available for sport, entertainment and community use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/v8-sleuth-magazine-subscription-issues-1-6?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sleuth-mag-subscription-1-6_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"497\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/perth-supercars-street-circuit1-1024x497.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-241855\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The plans have been inspired by Albert Park, with its pit facility utilised year-round by a range of community groups.<\/p>\n<p>Victoria, meanwhile, has indicated that it plans to upgrade the Formula 1 facilities in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>The Perth Park multi-use track will also host cycling events, while there is potential for a substantial new hospitality facility.<\/p>\n<p>The precinct features a 12,000-seat outdoor amphitheatre, purpose-built for live concerts, indoor sporting facilities, and a 150,000-tree urban forest.<\/p>\n<p>Work on the venue is due to begin next year, ahead of the park opening in 2027.<\/p>\n<p><a \/><\/p>\n<p>WA Premier Roger Cook backed the inclusion of a Supercars event at Perth Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think when people see the legacy it creates for future generations, when they see it brings this whole area alive, public amenity, opportunity to create events here, it is an important project,\u201d said Premier Cook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSitting alongside the Belmont Park Racecourse and Crown Perth, Perth Park will bring Optus Stadium and the State Tennis Centre together with exciting new facilities to create something truly iconic for our State long into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It has been projected that the Supercars event will contribute $61 million to the WA economy annually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe chance to hold a Supercars street race at Perth Park precinct is something we\u2019re really looking forward to in 2028,\u201d said James Warburton, Supercars Chief Executive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supercars will return to west to
