{"id":304229,"date":"2025-11-23T21:14:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T21:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/304229\/"},"modified":"2025-11-23T21:14:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T21:14:09","slug":"lewis-hamilton-feels-terrible-after-worst-season-ever-in-f1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/304229\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton feels &#8220;terrible&#8221; after &#8220;worst season ever&#8221; in F1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lewis Hamilton says he feels \u201cterrible\u201d as he endures what he has branded as being \u201cthe worst season ever\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Seven-time world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/9\/lewis-hamilton\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hamilton <\/a>recovered from a disastrous qualifying which left him dead last on the grid to grab the final point on offer in 10th at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>But Hamilton was visibly downcast as he gave a brief interview to Sky Sports following the race in Sin City.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel terrible,\u201d Hamilton stated. &#8220;It&#8217;s been the worst season ever and no matter how much I try it just keeps getting worse.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m trying everything in and out of the car.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton has suffered a disappointing maiden season with Ferrari, which he described as being a \u201cnightmare\u201d following a retirement at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix last time out.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old Briton\u2019s blockbuster switch from Mercedes to Ferrari has not lived up to expectations and Hamilton is yet to finish on a grand prix podium in red.<\/p>\n<p>Other than taking a dominant sprint race win at the second round of the season in China, it has been a miserable 2025 for Hamilton, who has been convincingly outperformed by teammate<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/889402\/charles-leclerc\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Charles Leclerc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton is 73 points adrift of Leclerc and sixth in the drivers\u2019 championship, while his replacement at Mercedes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/1043641\/andrea-kimi-antonelli\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kimi Antonelli<\/a>, is now just 17 points behind with two rounds remaining.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton facing \u2018tough moment\u2019 in career<\/p>\n<p>Jenson Button praised his former McLaren teammate for the way he has handled himself amid a \u201ctough moment\u201d in his career.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel Lewis has carried himself really well this year,\u201d the 2009 world champion told Sky Sports F1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a very difficult season for someone of his calibre to have difficult races, and he\u2019s carried himself so well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time I feel that we\u2019ve really seen him seriously deflated and it gets to you. Mentally it\u2019s draining when you have a few bad races.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt felt like it was on the up and this might be just one bad race and it might be back for the next one. I hope so.
