The Block<\/a>‘s Kristy and Brett<\/a> have exciting news: they’re expecting their first child!<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Adelaide couple, who appeared in the 2023 Charming Street season, made their pregnancy announcement to Woman’s Day<\/a>, saying “the timing is perfect for this next chapter of our lives”. <\/p>\n

Kristy is due in May 2026 and after being “flat out” renovating their own home for the past six months, they had given no thought to baby names or designing a nursery.<\/p>\n

The couple were “never big social media users”, so they have not announced the news to their accounts \u2013 but of course have had a lot of support from their loved ones.<\/p>\n

“Our families were ecstatic with the news, and partially shocked,” Kristy said. “We made sure each announcement was personalised to make it that bit more special. Brett’s mum was first to hear, quickly followed by my dad.”<\/p>\n

However, there are some people who they did not tell in advance!<\/p>\n

While they shared their special news with Block co-host Shelley Craft, none of their castmates know, which Kristy said “might not be a surprise to viewers”.<\/p>\n

Kristy and Brett on The Block\ufeff<\/p>\n

Kristy and Brett were often a controversial \ufeffpair during Season 19 of The Block.<\/p>\n

They arrived with a very strategic gameplay and ruffled feathers as they accused their neighbours of rule-breaking and receiving special treatment.<\/p>\n

From stirring the pot to a tumultuous friendship break-up with fellow Blockheads Leah and Ash, \ufeffKristy and Brett were never ones to stay quiet.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIn 2023, the auction produced turbulent results with winners Steph and Gian\ufeff and runners-up Eliza and Liberty walking away with a respective $1,750,000 and $1,050,000.<\/p>\n

Kristy and Brett were crushed when their home sold for a modest profit of $65,000.<\/p>\n

They were furious their agent had revealed their reserve, believing that had “cruelled” their chances of winning big, and potentially affected the rest of the day’s bidding.<\/p>\n

Kristy said they were grateful for the profit, but added it didn’t cover their wages for the time they spent building their home.<\/p>\n
