Former Collingwood big man Mason Cox<\/a> has officially signed with Fremantle as a Supplemental Selection Period acquisition.<\/p>\n

Cox joins the Dockers on a two-year deal after more than a decade with Collingwood, where he joined from the United States as a trail-blazing addition to the AFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 211cm ruck-forward hybrid debuted for the Magpies on Anzac Day in 2016 and would go on to play 139 games for the Victorian club.<\/p>\n

Cox featured in Collingwood’s 2023 premiership side, playing 19 games that year under coach Craig McRae<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After losing supporting ruckman Liam Reidy<\/a> to Carlton during the trade period, Fremantle have moved for an experienced third-string option in Cox for the next two seasons.<\/p>\n

“We see a real benefit with having a 211cm premiership ruck of the calibre of Mason Cox<\/a> joining our program,” Dockers list lead David Walls said.<\/p>\n

“We are really pleased with our ruck combination of Sean Darcy<\/a> and Luke Jackson<\/a> and see Mason adding to our depth in that department. His knowledge and experience will be really valuable.<\/p>\n

“We have 19-year-old Aiden Riddle<\/a> developing nicely, and he will benefit greatly, along with Luke and Sean.<\/p>\n

“We look forward to welcoming Mason to the Club.”<\/p>\n

The signing of Cox comes after a trade and draft window that saw the Dockers add Judd McVee<\/a> from the Melbourne Demons<\/a> before selecting Adam Sweid<\/a>, Tobyn Murray<\/a> and Leon Kickett<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fremantle also listed NGA pair Toby Whan<\/a> and Ryda Luke<\/a> as category B rookies following last week’s draft.<\/p>\n
