All 18 clubs have checked in for the 2026 pre-season, with last year’s finalists still staggering through.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of summer, high-performance staff schedule aerobic testing to assess the players’ baseline fitness, getting an understanding of who’s been working since the completion of the season.<\/p>\n

From 3km runs to Bronco testing, the assessments vary among the clubs, but ultimately put the players through their paces.<\/p>\n

Sydney was one of the first to reveal their best runners in a set 2km time trial at Centennial Park, before moving into skills and running blocks.<\/p>\n

Youngster Caiden Cleary<\/a> was crowned as this year’s aerobic specialist, narrowly pipping Corey Warner<\/a> and Riley Bice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

St Kilda extended their testing to 3km, with Darcy Wilson<\/a> making it three from three in impressive fashion.<\/p>\n

Brad Hill and Marcus Windhager<\/a> followed Wilson, while Hugo Garcia<\/a> and Tobie Travaglia<\/a> were noted performers.<\/p>\n

Western Bulldogs<\/a> also underwent the gruesome assessment, with Luke Kennedy<\/a> taking the chocolates at Whitten Oval. Joel Freijah<\/a> and Ryley Sanders<\/a> rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n

North Melbourne winger Dylan Stephens<\/a> took out the title at Arden Street in their 2km trial.<\/p>\n

Griffin Logue<\/a> and Luke McDonald<\/a> finished on the podium, while Colby McKercher<\/a> and Harry Sheezel<\/a> completed the top five.<\/p>\n

Tom Powell<\/a>, Zac Banch<\/a>, Cooper Trembath<\/a>, Bailey Scott<\/a> and River Stevens<\/a> were also impressive.<\/p>\n

Gold Coast Academy graduate Leo Lombard<\/a> has been putting in the work during the off-season, as shown in his 2km time trial.<\/p>\n

The assessment, held at Griffith University, saw Lombard edge out Sam Clohesy<\/a> and draftee pair Beau Addinsall<\/a> and Zeke Uwland<\/a>, while Will Graham<\/a> and Jed Walter<\/a> followed behind.<\/p>\n

Collingwood underwent a Bronco test, which is similar to shuttle runs, and sees participants run 1.2km.<\/p>\n

Mid-season draftee Roan Steele<\/a> dominated the running, taking out the win ahead of Lachie Sullivan<\/a> and Wil Parker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hawthorn draftee Jack Dalton<\/a> took out the club’s six-minute time trial in the first official session at the Hawks’ new facility in Dingley, adding to his 2km time trial win at this year’s National Combine.<\/p>\n

Josh Weddle<\/a>,\u00a0Josh Ward<\/a>, and\u00a0Finn Maginness<\/a> were among the other top finishers for the run.\u00a0<\/p>\n
