Islam Makhachev is now at the top<\/a> of the official UFC pound-for-pound list and one of the few fighters to win belts in two different weight classes. He\u2019s tied with Anderson Silva for longest UFC win streak. But according to Nate Diaz, he\u2019s still a newb that just got here, and he has a long way to go before being able to even sniff at GOAT status.<\/p>\n

Asked on a Kick stream by N3ON who the MMA GOAT is, Diaz went with the classic option.<\/p>\n

\u201cJon Jones, for sure,\u201d Nate said. As for Islam Makhachev?<\/p>\n

\u201cThey just throw s\u2014 out like that,\u201d Diaz said of the Makhachev GOAT talk. \u201cHe\u2019s been here for like two minutes, and he ain\u2019t beat nobody that crazy. The best lightweight ever was B.J. Penn. So when we get s\u2014 like that, and you got whatever Islam did, and it\u2019s like that don\u2019t even match.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not that he can\u2019t be or won\u2019t be, but you\u2019re just gonna throw GOAT at the motherf\u2014er when he just showed up on the scene?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey think I\u2019m f\u2014ing hating but that\u2019s because we\u2019ve got our differences,\u201d Diaz continued. \u201cThere is s\u2014 I\u2019ve seen that I\u2019ll remember forever. That\u2019s GOAT s\u2014. I ain\u2019t seen nothing from them mother\u2014ers. I can\u2019t even remember anything but getting bored in all them fools last fights. That name shouldn\u2019t even be thrown at those guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about lightweight champ Ilia Topuria, Diaz dismissed him as GOAT but put him about Makhachev.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t seen him do too much yet but I think [Topuria] is more of a complete fighter than [Islam],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

One thing to remember when Nate says these things is he doesn\u2019t really follow the sport all that much any more. When he arrived in Thailand to film a reality show<\/a> with Jon Jones (leaving an hour later after a contestant tried to play-fight with him),<\/a> the two shared their thoughts on the current UFC product.<\/p>\n

\u201cI barely watch it,\u201d Jones said. \u201cI barely watch the UFC these days unless it\u2019s my weight class.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCuz who are all these people?
