seaside.

The visitors won the toss and that was one of the few pieces of luck to fall their way.

With skipper and regular opener Sam Bell unavailable for this match, Cameron Slape was called on to face the new ball with Dr Sean McGrath.

The makeshift opening pair found it hard to pierce the field and were dismissed for one run apiece.

This set the pattern for the rest of the Furner/Beachport innings with two ducks and seven batsmen making single digits.

The exceptions were returning player James Watts (14) and a player using an alias (unbeaten on 22).

With Furner/Beachport fielding only 10 players, the innings was completed in the 32nd over at visitors were within sight of victory when the heavens opened and the match was abandoned.

In reply to Mount Burr’s 10/122, Naracoorte had reached 3/77 in the 20th over.

This meant they had 20 overs and seven wickets in hand and were just 46 runs away from victory.

The home side were fortunate to split the premiership points after being 5/16 at one stage.

With some quality players back in the pavilion, it was left to teens Jack Muhovics (42) and Coaden Taylor (37) to save face with an 80-run partnership for the overs.

Naracoorte used eight bowlers and six of them took wickets.

In reply, Naracoorte was making ground towards a win as little impact was made by the Mount Burr figures.

The pick was vice captain Jaxon Cushion with an unbeaten 42 and his side was 9/167 at the time of the compulsory 40 over closure.

Millicent/Naracoorte Cricket Association president Tyson Smith troubled the tail and finished with the bowling honours of 3/28.

Like at Mount Burr, the wet conditions ended any hope of a
