Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith both joined LIV Golf in 2022, but some Tour professionals believe that move ruined their careers.<\/p>\n
Koepka became the first LIV golfer to win a major<\/a> at the PGA Championship in 2023 while Smith was crowned an Open champion just before moving to the Saudi-backed circuit<\/a>. But their fortunes have dwindled somewhat since then.<\/p>\n More recently, Koepka has missed several cuts, including at three of the four majors in 2025, the Irish Open, and the BMW PGA Championship. They posed: \u201cI\u2019m curious what\u2019s going on with the five-time major winner? It seems bizarre that in 2023, he won the PGA Championship and came T2 at The Masters, but two years later his game is unrecognizable?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFrom what I\u2019ve known from the year, it hasn\u2019t been great,\u201d said O\u2019Hern. \u201cHe\u2019s an interesting cat, Brooks, because when he first went to LIV\u2026 You thought this suits him and his schedule because it\u2019s limited golf for him.<\/p>\n \u201cI always feel like the guys that went to LIV\u2026 the majority of them\u2026 weren\u2019t die hard professional golfers,\u201d added Allen. \u201cFrom the outside looking in, it just looks like LIV stuffed their game.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Hern then went on to discuss Smith’s struggles, adding: \u201cNo one drove it worse than him at the majors last year\u2026 he missed every cut in the majors last year. I’m sure it’s annoying the hell out of him too.”<\/p>\n Allen added: \u201cLIV\u2026 it’s just not for everybody as far as we watch.
