Chuck Potthast, the father of 90 Day Fianc\u00e9 star Elizabeth Castravet, has died from brain cancer at 64.<\/p>\n
Potthast had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an incurable form of brain cancer. <\/p>\n
\u201cTwo weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and it has left us completely shattered,\u201d Castravet announced in an Instagram post. \u201cMy sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven. We\u2019re trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Castravet\u2019s sister Becky, who also appeared on the hit reality show, also honored her father in a post.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo weeks ago on this day my world became distorted into a place I don\u2019t understand,\u201d she said. \u201cMy father Chuck went home to be with The Lord. The pain is still more than I can bare so this is all I can write.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Castravet family asked the public for privacy \u201cduring this extremely difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
In September, Potthast shared a health update on the social media page of 90 Day Fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy surgery was supposed to be about three to four hours long to fix hernias from my previous cancer operations,\u201d he said. \u201cMy surgery ended up being eight hours long. But the benefit is I have a flat stomach now, which is cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
The TLC show documented Castravet\u2019s online relationship with her fianc\u00e9, Andrei Castravet, before they met in person in Dublin. <\/p>\n
The couple got married in 2017 and have since started their family with daughter Eleanor, 6, and son Winston, 3. <\/p>\n
Potthast\u2019s battle with cancer was referenced on the show when it delved into Castravet\u2019s estrangement from her three sisters and three brothers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Lord didn\u2019t save my life to see my family fractured like this,\u201d he said. Potthast later urged his family to go to therapy, saying, \u201cI want this fixed.\u201d<\/p>\n
