{"id":308019,"date":"2025-11-25T16:09:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T16:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/308019\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T16:09:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T16:09:14","slug":"aston-martin-driver-admits-time-to-go-after-major-exit-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/308019\/","title":{"rendered":"Aston Martin driver admits &#8216;time to go&#8217; after major exit announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Felipe Drugovich, the outgoing Aston Martin reserve driver, has acknowledged it is \u201ctime to go\u201d after the team confirmed that he is to leave his role after the Las Vegas Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>And the Brazilian reflected on \u201cmany cool moments\u201d \u2013 as well as \u201csome not so cool moments\u201d \u2013 as he parted ways with the team.<\/p>\n<p>Felipe Drugovich responds to Aston Martin exit ahead of Formula E debut<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/yuki-tsunoda-red-bull-aston-martin-andretti-lifeline\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously reported by PlanetF1.com<\/a>, Drugovich is to make a full-time return to racing later this year having agreed a deal to join Andretti for the new Formula E season.<\/p>\n<p>The 12th season of the all-electric single-seater series is scheduled to begin in Drugovich\u2019s home nation of Brazil on December 6.<\/p>\n<p>Aston Martin announced that last weekend\u2019s Las Vegas Grand Prix <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/aston-martin-confirm-felipe-drugovich-departure-after-las-vegas-grand-prix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">marked Drugovich\u2019s final race with the team<\/a> having joined two days after winning the prestigious F2 (formerly GP2) title in September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Analysis: Las Vegas Grand Prix<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/las-vegas-grand-prix-2025-conclusions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Las Vegas GP conclusions: Max spooks Norris, McLaren DSQ silver lining, Hamilton\u2019s Ferrari regret?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/winners-and-losers-from-the-2025-las-vegas-grand-prix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Winners and losers from the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite making seven FP1 appearances for Aston Martin in three years, Drugovich failed to force his way into the team\u2019s plans for a race seat.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the news of his departure, Drugovich acknowledged that now is the right time to leave Aston Martin as he prepares for his switch to Formula E.<\/p>\n<p>And he hinted at some underlying frustration with his time at the Silverstone-based team, stressing the need to \u201ctake the positives and leave the bad behind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a post to social media, Drugovich said: \u201cYup, time to go!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy for these 3 years, learned a lot, many cool moments, some not so cool moments, but we take the positives with us and leave the bad behind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother chapter closed and we move on!
