{"id":308635,"date":"2025-11-25T22:42:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T22:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/308635\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T22:42:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T22:42:15","slug":"herzog-de-meuron-win-dezeen-awards-2025-architecture-project-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/308635\/","title":{"rendered":"Herzog &#038; de Meuron win Dezeen Awards 2025 architecture project of the year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>University Children&#8217;s Hospital Zurich by Herzog &amp; de Meuron has been named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/awards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dezeen Awards 2025<\/a> architecture project of the year following the announcement of all 17 architecture category winners at a party in London.<\/p>\n<p>The 17 winners awarded at the eighth annual Dezeen Awards ceremony are located in 15 different countries including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/denmark\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denmark<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/uganda\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Uganda<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/australia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/mexico\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mexico<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/japan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Japan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>University Children&#8217;s Hospital Zurich by Herzog &amp; de Meuron won the prestigious architecture project of the year award, sponsored by <a href=\"https:\/\/programa.design\/partnerships\/2025-dezeen-awards?utm_source=dezeen&amp;utm_medium=paid-media-publisher&amp;utm_campaign=dezeen_awards_2025&amp;utm_content=dezeen_homepage\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Programa<\/a>. It was also named leisure and wellness project of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a project that should be celebrated, and celebrated widely,&#8221; said the architecture master jury.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is an exemplary building, in a sector where exemplary buildings are rare but needed more than almost any other. said the master jury.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mimicking the original building, the addition holds all the principles of the original without being a direct copy to start a conversation between the two structures and continue its story,&#8221; adding that, &#8220;this building of substance is contemporary but clearly derived from its locale.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It exudes impressive monumentally along with structural strength, while still managing to retain a human scale,&#8221;
