\"'Masti ‘Masti 4’ and ‘120 Bahadur’ hit theatres on Friday, November 21, arriving as a stark genre contrast at the box office. While the Vivek Oberoi\u2013Riteish Deshmukh\u2013Aftab Shivdasani adult comedy was expected to take the lead, the outcome has been quite the reverse. Being a franchise title, ‘Masti 4’ was anticipated to perform strongly in single screens, whereas ‘120 Bahadur’, buoyed by favourable word of mouth, was predicted to resonate more with multiplex crowds. Surprisingly, it\u2019s the Farhan Akhtar-led war drama that has taken the upper hand.Amid all this, Ajay Devgn\u2019s ‘De De Pyaar De’ continues to outshine both new releases. ‘Masti 4’ opened at Rs 2.75 crore on Friday and repeated the same number on Saturday. Sunday (Day 3) brought a mild uptick to Rs 3 crore, but Monday (Day 4) saw a further decline with collections slipping to Rs 1.50 crore. As per Sacnilk, the film\u2019s cumulative total now stands at Rs 10 crore.<\/p>\n

Given its current trend, ‘Masti 4’ is likely to underperform compared to the previous entry in the franchise, \u2018Great Grand Masti\u2019 (2016), which had earned 8.50 crore nett over its first weekend. Meanwhile, ‘120 Bahadur’ managed to surpass ‘Masti 4’ through the weekend and delivered numbers nearly identical on Monday, collecting Rs 1.40 crore. On 1st Tuesday, it made Rs 1.60 crore which is not much of a difference from Monday, despite discounted ticket prices. On the other hand, it was second Tuesday for ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ and it still made Rs 1.75 crore. Clearly, the response for ‘Masti 4’ is underwhelming.
