Broncos skipper Adam Reynolds has denied claims he could return to the Rabbitohs to end his NRL career, with his future beyond the 2026 season remaining uncertain.

The 35-year-old signed a one-year extension in June, but his contract ends at the same time as boom recruit Jonah Pezet arrives, signalling a potential changing of the guard.

That signing suggests Brisbane powerbrokers believe Reynolds will hang up the boots at the end of 2026, but the veteran playmaker has not confirmed whether he will play on or not.

But no, there’s no conversations.”

He was also asked about the potential move on The Today Show, saying: “No, it’s just rumours. You know how media works, they like to get stories out there and whatnot.

Adam Reynolds is yet to decide on his future.Source: Getty Images

“There’s been no communication at all. I’m a Bronco through and through. Love the club up here and looking to have success again next year.”

It remains to be seen whether the Broncos will have the cap space to accommodate Reynolds in 2027, should he have a desire to remain at the club.

The signing of Pezet indicates club bosses have not budgeted for him to extend his stay.

When asked about his prospects of playing in 2027, Reynolds said: “I don’t know. I’m not too sure.

“I suppose the start of the season will give me an indication of how the body and how the mind’s feeling.

“I think the mind’s the most important thing, whether it still wants to go another 12 months or if the body can handle it. Those questions will pretty much answer themselves throughout the season at some stage.

“Moving with the times”: Lockyer on logo | 01:36

MORE NRL NEWS

NOV 1 LIVE: Star linked to four clubs amid DCE rumour; Storm’s Katoa replacement

‘S**T HAPPENS’: Ex-star ‘bitter’ at Dragons after failing to get ‘fair crack’ at recall
