during her recent appearance on \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d<\/a>\n <\/p>\n\n It started with her explaining that the boyfriend of her daughter, 26-year-old Lily Sheen, is one of only five people Beckinsale has ever seriously yelled at.\n <\/p>\n
\n And while she doesn\u2019t remember why she yelled at him, the actress said he has also brought positivity into their lives.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe\u2019ve had a tough couple of years, both my parents passed away within the last few years, and literally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him,\u201d she said of the unnamed boyfriend. \u201cHe laid two eggs in a week, is what the bright spot was.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Come again?\n <\/p>\n
\n When challenged on that Beckinsale insisted that she too was doubtful but \u201cit had a shell and a yolk.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cHe went to the bathroom and then was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg,\u201d Beckinsale explained. \u201cI got very involved in this because I really did need a distraction because everything was so horrible.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Kimmel locked in, saying \u201cthere will be no other topics, by the way.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n She went on to say that the first time it happened the boyfriend was shocked and crushed one to see what was inside and it was \u201ca hard-boiled one too. It kind of cooked inside him.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Beckinsale said she initially believed the story had been embellished until her daughter went to fly with him to New York.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI got a text that says, \u2018Oh my God, he\u2019s done it again, and now he\u2019s really freaking out,\u2019\u201d Beckinsale said. \u201cAnd he\u2019s allergic to tree nuts, so we\u2019ve had some emergencies, but this was more intense than a tree nut emergency.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n When Kimmel asked it she believed him, the actress said she did, because the boyfriend was so frightened by the whole thing. She did ask him, she said, if he was perhaps seeking attention and inserting eggs into his bottom.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI think it\u2019s quite hard to put an egg up your bottom and then get it up whole without injuring the egg,\u201d she said. \u201cI think that\u2019s a skill.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n She then proceeded to share photos her daughter had sent following the second egg-laying with Kimmel and his sidekick on the show, Guillermo Rodriguez, but not the audience.\n <\/p>\n
\n Whatever he saw made Kimmel a believer.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cYour daughter\u2019s boyfriend is the Easter Bunny,\u201d he said.\n <\/p>\n
