{"id":310506,"date":"2025-11-26T18:46:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T18:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/310506\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T18:46:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T18:46:13","slug":"jorge-martin-inspired-by-marc-marquezs-great-motogp-comeback-bezzecchi-a-completely-different-rider","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/310506\/","title":{"rendered":"Jorge Martin inspired by Marc Marquez\u2019s &#8220;great&#8221; MotoGP comeback, Bezzecchi \u201ca completely different rider\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Upon collecting his MotoGP world champion\u2019s trophy at the end-of-season FIM Awards, Marc Marquez said: \u201cI hope this comeback helps a lot of people as inspiration for their lives, and to never give up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of those inspired by Marquez\u2019s return to the top, a record six-years after his previous title and after enduring career-threatening injuries, is outgoing champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/973236\/jorge-martin\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jorge Martin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor sure it&#8217;s a good example of a great comeback,\u201d Martin told MotoGP.com. \u201cI don&#8217;t want to compare myself to Marc. He&#8217;s completely a different person, and a different rider. But I know I can do it also.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a>-era champion from a non-factory team, Martin achieved factory status by moving from Pramac to Aprilia.<\/p>\n<p>But his title defence was effectively over before it had even begun, due to a pair of pre-season injuries.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Worse was to follow with eleven rib fractures and lung damage on his comeback in Qatar, then a displaced collarbone fracture after colliding with his own team-mate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/995158\/marco-bezzecchi\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marco Bezzecchi<\/a> in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/3000_gng_1286431_hires.jpg\"   type=\"image\/jpeg\" alt=\"Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzecchi, 2025 Valencia MotoGP test\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.33\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzecchi, 2025 Valencia MotoGP test<\/p>\n<p>  Jorge Martin \u201ca completely different rider&#8221; to Bezzecchi<\/p>\n<p>As well as his injuries, Martin had to admit defeat during an early contract battle with Aprilia, before finishing the season with just 34 points.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bezzecchi led the factory to its best MotoGP season of three grand prix victories, three Sprint victories, third in the riders\u2019 standings and second in the constructors\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m for sure really happy for Aprilia, and for Marco. They are an amazing group, let&#8217;s say, together. But it doesn&#8217;t mean that if it works for Marco, will work for me,\u201d said Martin, who took a best result of fourth in between his injuries.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am a completely different rider and I need time to get used to the bike. I think the potential of the bike is great. My potential is great. We just need to put it together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s a pity that I crashed again in Japan because I felt super good in the Misano test, for example. And I feel that day by day I was getting more and more confident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo now we have to erase a bit this last injury and continue the progression that we were coming with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to thank Aprilia&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After Marc Marquez\u2019s Mandalika injury, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/aprilia-racing\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aprilia <\/a>won three of the final four grands prix, including double podiums at Phillip Island and Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>As such, history probably won\u2019t judge Martin\u2019s earlier attempt to trigger a release clause in his contract kindly, but the 27-year-old insists it is now all in the past.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to thank Aprilia because I can see, now, they understand my situation,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know exactly which is the plan and we are together in this. For me, my philosophy now, is that when I take a decision, I will go for that decision until the end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I have an amazing group with me that will fight for me and we will see what happens in the future, but now I am an Aprilia rider.
