The Wallaroos are pleased to announce the signings of four uncapped players to their national contracted squad for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
World Cup squad member Caitlin Urwin, ACT Brumbies pair Lily Bone and Ella Ryan, and Western Force\u2019s Brooklyn Teki-Joyce will all join the Wallaroos program next year.<\/p>\n
Gympie Hammers junior Urwin travelled to the World Cup with the Wallaroos and will eye a Test debut in 2026 while Bone and Ryan trained in extended Australian squads earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Teki-Joyce joins the Wallaroos program for the first time after strong performances for Western Force and Australia A in the past 18 months.<\/p>\n
General Manager of Women\u2019s Rugby Jilly Collins said the new recruits to the program were part of a long-term strategy for Rugby Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cSecuring the next generation of players is an important part of the Wallaroos’ planning as we look ahead to the next World Cup cycle,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCaitlin has shown impressive commitment and high potential this year after strong performances for the Reds and Australia A.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe earned her place in the Rugby World Cup squad and played an important role in England while gaining valuable experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe certainly believe in her future and this 2026 agreement provides her the clear opportunity to achieve her first Test cap.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bone, 20, is an emerging lock from Orange who made her Super Rugby Women\u2019s debut with ACT Brumbies in 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cLily joined us midway through the year, participating in training camps to assist the Wallaroos’ preparation for the World Cup,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe demonstrated her talent while playing for Australia A in June and has been identified as a player with significant future potential within the national program.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ryan returned to rugby union in 2025 after a two-year stint in the NRLW with the Canberra Raiders.<\/p>\n
The promising scrumhalf has also represented Australia in Rugby 7s at the Global Youth Sevens in New Zealand and Brumbies in the Next Gen 7s competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cElla is a confident and dynamic player who is highly regarded by coaches and peers,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had a solid season with the ACT Brumbies and was consistently integrated into Wallaroos training camps throughout the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe she will go to another level in the Wallaroos program in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
Teki-Joyce is a Nedlands junior from Western Australia who has the ability to play in the backrow or wing.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old has played rugby in New Zealand with Bay of Plenty and spent time in the Black Ferns development system previously.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrooklyn is a player the coaches have identified as a key prospect, and we are delighted she has accepted a contract to join the Wallaroos Managed Group,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had a strong Super Rugby Women\u2019s season with the Western Force this year, with her exceptional speed out wide and valuable versatility being a huge advantage to the squad.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Wallaroos are in a contracting period for 2026 with the Test schedule to be announced in December.<\/p>\n
