Multiple water bombers were sent to fight the fire, which was reported near Beenyup Road in Banjup about 2.40pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Department of Fire and Emergency services issued a watch and act warning for residents in the area, urging them to leave now if unprepared as the fire remains uncontrolled.<\/p>\n
The blaze is not contained or controlled.<\/p>\n
\u201cA bushfire watch and act is in place for people south of Armadale Road, east of Tapper Road, west of Liddlelow Road and north of Coffey Road in parts of Aubin Grove and Banjup in the City of Cockburn,\u201d DFES said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning in the area and conditions are changing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf your plan is to leave, leave now.<\/p>\n
\u201cDecide where you will go and how you will get there. This could be with family or friends away from the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n
Residents are advised to leave in a westerly direction. Gibbs Road has been closed as emergency services remain at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you plan to stay and defend ensure you are mentally and physically prepared, with protective clothing and an independent water supply,\u201d the warning alert said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMake final preparations now and start patrolling your property to put out spot fires.\u201d<\/p>\n
A separate advice warning is in place for parts of Jandakot, Treeby, and west of the fire in Aubin Grove.<\/p>\n
