With the Calgary Flames<\/a> struggling to find a way out of the Western Conference basement, trade rumours have already started to swirl around the team.<\/p>\n

The names of veterans Nazem Kadri<\/a>, Rasmus Andersson<\/a> and Blake Coleman<\/a> have been thrown around with talks likely to intensify as the March 6 trade deadline draws closer. <\/p>\n

Coleman has eight goals and 10 points in 25 games to start the year as he looks closer to the form that saw him score 30 goals in 2023-24 after finishing with just 15 last season. Signed through next season at a cap hit of $4.9 million, Coleman is aware he could be on the trade block.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou hear it, obviously, but I think that\u2019s just part of the job,\u201d Coleman told Wes Gilbertson of Postmedia<\/a>. \u201cYou put yourselves in this kind of situation [with a poor start]. There\u2019s really not a name I haven\u2019t heard. Yeah, some get thrown out more than others obviously. Thankfully, I guess, I learned a lesson early in the league that anything can happen on any day. I was in New Jersey and they told me that I was going to be part of the core and the future, and two weeks later I was traded. So if the right offer comes across for anybody \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a young guy with a good contract. I thought I was safe. They were talking about all the old guys and I was the first one out the door, so \u2026 It is what it is. People have a job to do and, honestly, it keeps my family entertained, my parents and all that. I just mute the chat and just go play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coleman\u2019s comments came prior to the Flames 5-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> on Wednesday, which dropped the team\u2019s record to 8-14-3. While Wednesday\u2019s loss snapped a three-game winning streak, Calgary still has the worst points percentage in the NHL at .380. <\/p>\n

The 33-year-old winger was flipped by the New Jersey Devils<\/a> to the Lightning in 2020, winning two Stanley Cups with the team before joining the Flames in 2021.<\/p>\n

Selected by the Devils in the third round of the 2011 draft, Coleman has 158 goals and 300 points in 649 career games. <\/p>\n

Kadri, 35, has four goals and 18 points in 25 games to start the season. He remains signed through 2028-29 at a cap hit of $7 million.<\/p>\n

Andersson, who remained with Calgary despite being on the trade block throughout the off-season, has five goals and 16 points in 25 games.
