Jones said he, like his fellow regional coaches, knew the situation was coming, but it does not make it any less difficult.<\/p>\n
“We’re utilising everybody on the factory floor, there’s no doubt about that,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The players have been great, the challenge is just the depth, trying to create meaningful opposition when you’ve got injuries and bumps, trying to keep 15 against 15.”<\/p>\n
But Jones insists their depletion gives other players opportunities, including those from the academy, as Ospreys seeks to rise from 14th in the URC table.<\/p>\n
“It’s a real test of our depth and our environment in how we get the most out of these boys over the next few weeks,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We know what we need to do in this game [against Edinburgh], we’re going to a really tough place in the Hive. They’ve got a very good forward pack and set-piece, it’s right up there with the top teams in the league and they’ve got a really effective kicking game.<\/p>\n
