A man accused of being an accessory after the fact in the alleged murder of Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop has been charged with a new offence.<\/p>\n
Kieren Daniel Mittelheuser, 30, was previously charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder.<\/p>\n
Today, the Bundaberg Magistrates Court heard that he now also faces one count of attempting to pervert justice.<\/p>\n
Ms Bishop, 17, was due to catch a flight from Bundaberg Airport on May 15 but did not make it to the terminal.<\/p>\n
Her disappearance sparked a large search and her body was found in Good Night Scrub National Park weeks later.<\/p>\n

Mr Mittelheuser is the third person arrested in relation to her death. Two other people have been charged with her murder.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His matter was briefly mentioned in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday where Mr Mittelheuser appeared via video link.<\/p>\n
Acting Magistrate Nigel Rees ordered a brief of evidence be prepared, to be ready by January 16 next year.<\/p>\n
No details of the new charge were given in court.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In August, police alleged Mr Mittelheuser interfered with their investigation by accessing Ms Bishop’s mobile phone in the days before she was reported missing.<\/p>\n
Ms Bishop’s mother and sister were in court to see Mr Mittelheuser appear for the first time on Friday \u2014 after he was excused on the first occasion in August and suffered a medical episode before his October court hearing.<\/p>\n
Mr Mittelheuser remains in custody and was not required to address the court.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He has not yet been required to enter a plea to any of the charges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
