The NFL is taking over Black Friday for the third consecutive year, but this season brings a first: both teams playing on Black Friday have winning records.<\/p>\n
Not only are the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> and Chicago Bears<\/a> above .500, but both come into Black Friday as division leaders who sit one win away from securing a winning season.<\/p>\n For the Eagles, this position is no surprise. The reigning Super Bowl champions have every intention of playing in February once again, though a collapse against the rival Dallas Cowboys<\/a> on Sunday served as a reminder that the path back there might not be so easy.<\/p>\n The Bears, on the other hand, have made a habit of winning close games and shattered expectations in Ben Johnson’s first season as head coach, entering the Thanksgiving weekend as the leader of a division many believed they didn’t stand a chance of winning.\u00a0<\/p>\n Black Friday was a turning point for the Bears in 2024. That was the day Chicago fired coach Matt Eberflus on the heels of a late-game meltdown against the Detroit Lions<\/a>.
