The 2023 Australian PGA Championship<\/a> winner, Min Woo Lee<\/a>, has put himself in a brilliant position to reclaim the title as the competition heads into round four.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old currently sits fourth on the leaderboard on 12-under while Spaniard David Puig, Portuguese gun Ricardo Gouveia and Aussie Anthony Quayle are all equal first on 13-under.<\/p>\n

Lee had one of the better shots of round three when he hit from the rough on the 15th par-5 hole.<\/p>\n

The Australian had to contend with a dirt path and trees, but managed to pierce a gap as he yelled, “Get under!”.<\/p>\n

“This is ridiculous … oh my goodness,” caller Anthony Hudson said on Nine’s coverage.<\/p>\n

Lee then received an array of applause and cheers as the ball helped him out of trouble.<\/p>\n

“A swashbuckling style of golf he plays,” fellow commentator Ali Whitaker said.<\/p>\n

The replay then showed a young fan step away from the supporters’ pack, with his mouth wide open in awe.<\/p>\n

“Great reactions all round … eyes on him, Min Woo Lee,” Hudson said.<\/p>\n

Lee’s next shot wasn’t as spectacular, finishing short of the green and letting out a frustrated groan. His chip was much better before putting for par.<\/p>\n

The 2023 winner hit 4-under for the round and is 12-under overall. Kazuma Kobori is equal fourth.<\/p>\n

Adam Scott, Marc Leishman, Daniel Hillier and Wenyi Ding are all equal fifth on 11-under. <\/p>\n

It wasn’t a smooth day for golfers, with a disruptive storm causing problems.<\/p>\n

Tee times were brought forward to avoid any rain, but the wild weather system developed quickly and hit much earlier than expected.<\/p>\n

With storm activity in the area, organisers directed players off the course, causing a two-hour delay.<\/p>\n

Patrons were also advised to evacuate the venue.<\/p>\n

Post-round, joint leader Quayle admitted the delay had an impact on his 4-under round.<\/p>\n

“I wasn’t hitting at my best, was leaking a lot of tee shots right and just felt like I was scrambling forever, really,” he said.<\/p>\n
