{"id":317509,"date":"2025-11-30T00:25:04","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T00:25:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/317509\/"},"modified":"2025-11-30T00:25:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T00:25:04","slug":"jetstar-flights-resume-across-australia-after-airbus-a320-software-issue-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/317509\/","title":{"rendered":"Jetstar flights resume across Australia after Airbus A320 software issue identified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The majority of Jetstar services across Australia have resumed on Sunday after a global issue led to the grounding of Airbus A320 planes yesterday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Saturday, <a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-11-29\/vic-jetstar-travel-chaos\/106081606\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/106081606\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">thousands of passengers were impacted by the disruption<\/a> \u2013 mostly on the east coast \u2013 with flight cancellations at all major domestic airports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Jetstar said it had 86 of the A320 aircraft in its fleet, and 34 were affected by the software issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Qantas and Virgin also have A320s in their fleets, but the carriers said services were not disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Flow-on delays&#8217; possible<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Jetstar said on Saturday it was &#8220;progressively resolving&#8221; the software issue, and by the evening, had fixed all but six affected aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-11-29\/jetstar-flights-grounded-delayed-due-to-airbus-a320-recall\/106081408\" data-component=\"FullBleedLink\" class=\"RelatedCard_link__rsgR9 FullBleedLink_root__lTw_U interactive_focusContext__yRhc_ interactive_defaults__AKxUU FullBleedLink_showVisited__g3Xvz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jetstar flights grounded due to A320 recall<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP RelatedCard_synopsis__cFwMW Typography_sizeMobile14__u7TGe Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">About 90 Jetstar flights have been cancelled across Australia today due to a global recall of Airbus A320 planes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The issue required engineers to reverse a software upgrade that was carried out on Airbus A320 aircraft, in a process that could take up to three hours for each plane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It is understood the required Airbus update has now been applied to all of those affected aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Saturday, a spokesperson for Jetstar said there could be &#8220;flow-on delays or cancellations&#8221;
