Despite the cancellation by Peacock, series creator Rian Johnson plans to find a new home, but with a major twist.<\/p>\n
If the series does get picked up for a third season somewhere else, it would come with Peter Dinklage replacing Natasha Lyonne in the lead role of Charlie Cale, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cPoker Face\u201d debuted on Peacock in 2003 to critical acclaim. That first season was one of the streaming platform\u2019s most-watched series and earned a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Season 2 was a hit with critics as well, but ratings were down from the first season, according to Deadline. That, combined with production costs being steep, led to its cancellation, according to the report.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been germinating this next move together since writing the season two finale,\u201d Johnson and Lyonne said in a statement to Deadline. \u201cWe love our \u2018Poker Face\u2019 and this is the perfect way to keep it rolling. Give us a beat and we may just see Charlie Cale again down that open highway.\u201d<\/p>\n Johnson told the news outlet that his plan is to have a new actor portray the lead role of Charlie Cale every two seasons. That would involve Dinklage, known best for his role in \u201cGame of Thrones,\u201d taking on the character in Season 3, if it is picked up elsewhere.<\/p>\n
