A married couple allegedly used hidden cameras and earpieces to swindle a Sydney<\/a> casino.<\/p>\n

The pair from Kazakhstan headed straight to the Crown Casino in Barangaroo after landing in Australia in October, NSW<\/a> Police alleged on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old woman and her 44-year-old husband bought memberships, and visited the casino several more times in the two months that followed, winning a total of $1,179,412.<\/p>\n

But the eye-watering wins piqued the attention of casino staff.<\/p>\n

It will be alleged that the couple used mobile phones to capture images of the table, and deep-seated earpieces to communicate instructions for wagering on card games.<\/p>\n

Police allege this method allowed them to \u201cultimately cheat the casino.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman was allegedly spotted wearing a small, discrete camera attached to her shirt, by a casino staff member on November 27.<\/p>\n

Both the husband and were arrested at the casino.<\/p>\n

The couple allegedly carried small, magnetised probes, batteries, and a mobile phone with a fitted attachment allowing the camera function of the phone to discretely view, capture or record images.<\/p>\n

A small custom-made mirror attachment for the same mobile phone was also seized.<\/p>\n

Police later executed a search warrant at the couple\u2019s accommodation on Kent Street in Sydney, where police allegedly seized gambling props, high end jewellery, and $2000 euros.<\/p>\n

The couple have each been charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.<\/p>\n

They were refused bail on November 28, and will appear in court again at a later date.<\/p>\n
