{"id":320496,"date":"2025-12-01T12:10:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/320496\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T12:10:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:10:06","slug":"marc-marquez-issues-results-warning-after-dominant-2025-motogp-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/320496\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc Marquez issues results warning after dominant 2025 MotoGP title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez says he doesn\u2019t \u201cwant to obsess\u201d over career statistics, but admits \u201cthe dip will come\u201d when his results drop off.<\/p>\n<p>The 32-year-old totally dominated the 2025 season on the factory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a>, winning 11 grands prix and 14 sprints on his way to a seventh MotoGP world championship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a> won the title with five rounds to spare, helped greatly by his run of seven successive 37-point weekends from Aragon to Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>It marked his first world title in six years and his first in the wake of the serious arm injury he suffered in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Missing the final four rounds due to injury in 2025, he still ended the year 78 points clear in the standings, while the nearest GP25 was 257 points further back.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Marquez has sights set on 2026 title, but urges caution<\/p>\n<p>Marquez started the year as the favourite to win the title, but he always viewed team-mate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911999\/francesco-bagnaia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pecco Bagnaia<\/a> as the number one pick.<\/p>\n<p>He has revised this for 2026, but admits there will be a point in the coming years where his results will drop off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2025, I went with the profile I truly felt,\u201d he said during a recent Estreall Galicia event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the start, Pecco was the favourite.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understood that it could be a great year in Qatar when you&#8217;re performing well on a circuit where you&#8217;re weak.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 2026, it&#8217;s time to fight for the title. No matter what. Then we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, there&#8217;s rehabilitation involved.
