{"id":320643,"date":"2025-12-01T13:56:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T13:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/320643\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T13:56:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T13:56:06","slug":"ktm-says-major-motogp-investment-deal-could-be-done-before-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/320643\/","title":{"rendered":"KTM says major MotoGP investment deal could be done \u201cbefore Christmas\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KTM says it has received a \u201chigh level of interest\u201d from parties interested in investing in its MotoGP team, while a deal could be reached before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>The Austrian manufacturer has experienced a turbulent 12 months, following the major financial crisis that hit the company last winter.<\/p>\n<p>The company was able to secure its future through new majority ownership from Bajaj, who has seen the value in having a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> programme.<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/red-bull-ktm-factory-racing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KTM <\/a>confirmed its commitment to the 2027 MotoGP rules cycle by revealing a fire-up video of its new 850cc engine.<\/p>\n<p>Big investment in KTM on the horizon<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the last 12 months, KTM has opened itself up to outside investment for its MotoGP programme.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>At one point during the winter, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was linked to the team.<\/p>\n<p>The takeover by MotoGP from Liberty Media has opened up the championship to fresh investment interest.<\/p>\n<p>The most significant sign of this was the buyout of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/red-bull-ktm-tech3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tech3<\/a> squad by a consortium helmed by ex-Haas F1 team boss Guenther Steiner for \u20ac20 million.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Germany\u2019s Speedweek, KTM CEO Gottfried Neumeister says the brand has received huge levels of interest from investors and is looking for someone to cover around 30% of running costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s no secret that there\u2019s enormous interest from investors in getting involved in the MotoGP project,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA partner who can cover, for example, 30% of the running costs is very welcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I also want to make it perfectly clear: we will never relinquish control of the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe process has been lengthened due to the high level of interest; we are receiving new inquiries almost daily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we are deliberately taking our time and want to secure the best possible deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImportantly, this isn\u2019t primarily about an investor simply providing capital. I\u2019ve already had several personal discussions with potential investors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI expect we could reach a signing before Christmas.
