A decade of Champions Cup<\/a> disappointment could be coming to a close if the lads from Dublin have their way, while another group from Twickenham would like nothing more than to pile on what has been a strange season for Leinster Rugby.<\/p>\n

A 3-0-3 record in the United Rugby Championship for Leinster Rugby almost reads like a typo for the most dominant club team of the last five years \u2014 but one that has only a URC Grand Final win to show for it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dominated by Irish internationals, Leinster saw most of their players suit up for the British and Irish Lions or the Irish national team this summer. That left a somewhat depleted squad to start the season.<\/p>\n

Still, arguably the deepest club in the world probably should have played better in South Africa against DHL Stormers and Vodacom Bulls squads missing their Springboks.<\/p>\n

However, since starting the season 1-3, Leinster has won back-to-back matches against Zebre Parma and, most recently, against the Dragons in Wales, 24-10.<\/p>\n

The Harlequins, meanwhile, have also muddled through international roster issues and are 2-0-4 in Gallagher PREM Rugby play. Armed with star Marcus Smith, the Quins are talented enough to go to Dublin and win at the Aviva Stadium at 12:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 6 in Round 1.<\/p>\n

2025 Leinster Rugby vs Harlequin F.C.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The Quins are certainly not as favored to win Pool 3 as Leinster is, but the match matters for the race to the Round of 16. The Quins, like Leinster, avoid traveling to South Africa to play the DHL Stormers and get Bayonne at home. It could all set up a massive match at La Rochelle in Round 4.<\/p>\n

But an upset against Leinster in Dublin would change the math for everyone.<\/p>\n
