{"id":321788,"date":"2025-12-02T02:20:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T02:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/321788\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T02:20:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T02:20:13","slug":"broc-feeney-on-red-bull-formula-1-drive-at-the-bend-chaz-mostert-title-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/321788\/","title":{"rendered":"Broc Feeney on Red Bull Formula 1 drive at The Bend, Chaz Mostert title run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BROC Feeney says the chance to sample a Formula 1 car put a smile on his dial less than 24 hours on from his devastating Supercars title defeat.<\/p>\n<p>Feeney was beaten to the championship by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-330-Chaz-Mostert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chaz Mostert<\/a> on a dramatic Sunday in Adelaide, leaving the 23-year-old to cut a dejected figure.<\/p>\n<p>What followed was a drive of a 2011-spec Red Bull RB7 F1 car yesterday at The Bend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Helmut Marko just called me before so you won\u2019t need to put up with me next year!\u201d Feeney joked at the Supercars Gala Awards, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/feeney-sweeps-prestigious-supercars-awards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">where he collected both the Jim Richards Award and Barry Sheene Medal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>More seriously, he described the experience as \u201cunreal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy neck is a little bit sore, but it was a lot of fun. It\u2019s so fast,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure for all of us it\u2019s a dream to drive an F1 car one day and I never thought that day would come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo thanks to Red Bull for making that happen, that\u2019s something I will never forget for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a pretty tough 24 hours but it certainly put a smile on my face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/adelaide-thurs-4-40-of-41-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-243043\"  \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1545-Broc-Feeney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Broc Feeney<\/a>. Pic: Mark Walker<\/p>\n<p>Through the disappointment, Feeney spoke with pride about the season achievements of he and his crew, and credited Mostert for emulating the Brisbane Broncos\u2019 ability to catch fire come finals time in the 2025 NRL premiership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt obviously fuels me. It is tough at the end of the year going \u2018there\u2019s always next year\u2019, to keep coming back and try to be stronger,\u201d said the Triple Eight star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt like I made a huge jump this year and I tried to leave no stone unturned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe work ethic that the #88 crew puts in and the whole of Red Bull Ampol Racing is something I\u2019m so proud to be part of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know a few people have touched on it but the way our team has conducted themselves over the past 24 hours, I\u2019m just so proud of this group of people\u2026 and I have got no doubt I will be sticking with them for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is really hard to speak about (Sunday). I want to take the time to congratulate Chaz, there\u2019s no doubt he is a deserving champion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think everyone can agree the run that he went on in this finals series is something he should be truly proud of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a great role model for the sport, he is fantastic with the fans, with all the drivers, he has always been great to me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really want to congratulate him on what is a fantastic championship, you honestly have pulled together a run like the Broncos: you\u2019ve got to the finals and cracked onto some great form, so congratulations to you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am going to try to come back stronger.
