KTM says its \u201cPlan A\u201d is to continue its satellite MotoGP partnership with Tech3, though it admits \u201cteam bosses from other independent structures\u201d have held talks.<\/p>\n
The Austrian manufacturer added a satellite partner to its MotoGP programme in 2019, just two years into its premier class tenure, partnering with Tech3<\/a>.<\/p>\n With the French outfit, KTM<\/a> has achieved two victories – both in 2020 with Miguel Oliveira<\/a> – and multiple other podium finishes.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Herve Poncharal sold Tech3 to a consortium led by ex-Haas Formula 1 team boss Guenther Steiner for \u20ac20 million.<\/p>\n Tech3\u2019s current contract with KTM runs to the end of 2026, though the Austrian brand\u2019s CEO Gottfried Neumeister told Germany’s Speedweek that the priority is to renew this deal for 2027.<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n \u201cKTM and Tech3 have been working closely together for seven years, and a lot has been achieved,\u201d he told Speedweek.<\/p>\n \u201cContinuing this successful partnership is also our Plan A.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile everything is still open for 2027, Tech3 is ambitious, and KTM definitely wants to continue with a customer team, and if that can continue, fantastic.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a great exchange and a very good transfer of knowledge.
