Saweetie admits her only reference for what to expect on her first tour to Australia is what she saw on the Disney film Finding Nemo, and can\u2019t wait to set her sights on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.<\/p>\n

While she most likely won\u2019t have time to snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef looking for the famous fish trio, Marlin, Dory and Nemo, she is keeping her mind open about what to expect Down Under \u2014 apart from excited fans of course.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, based on Finding Nemo…I really want to see, what\u2019s that arch you guys have over there?\u201d she asked over a phone call from LA.<\/p>\n

I replied: \u201cThe Sydney Harbour Bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I\u2019m excited to see that. But honestly, I know this sounds childish, but my only recollection of anything that\u2019s Australia comes from Finding Nemo. So I\u2019m gonna be using that movie as a reference when I go out there.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut besides that, you know Sydney, Melbourne are some of my top streaming cities. So I\u2019m just so excited to meet the girls and the boys down there who\u2019ve been supporting me for all these years, and finally being able to see them in person.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old US rapper, real name Diamonte Harper, will travel to the other side of the globe this week, kicking off her tour in Perth on Wednesday night at Metros<\/a> in Northbridge.<\/p>\n

She will also bring her signature style, viral hits and superstar energy to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney for shows during the first week of August.<\/p>\n

Fans can expect fierce choreography, colourful fashion and a stacked setlist featuring hit songs, including a sneak peek at her new EP Hella Pressure, which drops mid-tour on August 1.<\/p>\n

Saweetie said her Aussie tour will be \u201ccolourful, funky and playful\u201d, three adjectives which currently mirror her personality and music.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like that\u2019s where I\u2019m at in my life. Not only do I want to work, but I want to have fun while I\u2019m doing it, and I feel like this new era of music allows me to do so,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Hella Pressure is the Rich Type singer\u2019s fifth EP, and according to her father, best represents her and evokes memories of her early music.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy about it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s inspired by my name Diamante, because, you know, diamonds are made under pressure, and I\u2019m basically just, like, popping my sh*t.\u201d<\/p>\n

She hasn\u2019t released music since last year, so the hype from fans for new material is real, with some already knowing the lyrics to her new song Boffum, before it was released.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe played this like 20 times at the strip club (before the release), and the whole crowd was singing it, which lets me know it\u2019s one of them ones, the fact that they were singing along, it\u2019s not even out yet, it was crazy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Saweetie raps about emotions throughout her almost 10-year career, which sparked from a passion for poetry.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I realised that, like music was just poetry over the beat, that\u2019s what made me want to get into it. So I\u2019m happy that I\u2019ve had all this success, and I\u2019m looking forward to having much more, especially with these new singles,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

K-pop group Twice collaborate with her on the track Superstars: \u201cOh my gosh, their voice sounds so beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so fun. And this reminds me of this, just like a pure, colourful day, and nothing could go wrong. It sounds like one of those songs that she just put on and immediately makes everything lighter and brighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Returning to the live music scene with a headline tour, Saweetie said it simply felt \u201csensational\u201d.<\/p>\n
