A man has been charged over the stabbing of a Melbourne school principal on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Keysborough Secondary College principal Aaron Sykes was stabbed at the school’s Acacia campus at about 3pm.<\/p>\n
The campus was placed into lockdown.<\/p>\n
A man was arrested at the campus and taken to hospital under police guard.<\/p>\n
The Victorian Principals Association confirmed the man was a staff member at the school.<\/p>\n

Classes resumed as normal on Wednesday, following the stabbing on Tuesday. (ABC News)<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old Mulgrave man has been charged with reckless engaging in conduct placing a person in danger of serious injury.<\/p>\n
He also faces a charge of intentionally causing injury, two counts of unlawful assault and one count of assault with a weapon.<\/p>\n

He will appear before Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today.<\/p>\n
Victoria Police said the man suffered a minor injury.<\/p>\n
Mr Sykes suffered a non-life-threatening stab injury but has since been released from hospital.<\/p>\n
No students were involved in the incident and the school is operating as normal today.<\/p>\n
A Victorian government spokesperson said counsellors were on site today to support staff and students.<\/p>\n
“This was a distressing incident for the entire school community and we are working closely with the school to ensure they have access to all necessary wellbeing supports,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
