But Romero found an equaliser deep into stoppage time when his scuffed shot somehow sneaked through a knot of players and into Ramsdale\u2019s net, leaving Newcastle scratching their heads. <\/p>\n
Newcastle dominated possession for the bulk of the first half but had little of substance to show for their efforts.<\/p>\n
They were a whisker away from taking the lead in the 35th minute when Joelinton, attacking down the right, shot across Guglielmo Vicario but saw his strike cannon back off the post.<\/p>\n
Moments later, Spurs themselves went close to going ahead after a moment of magic from Lucas Bergvall.<\/p>\n

Spurs survived a double scare early in the second half. First, Vicario saved from Harvey Barnes and when the ball fell for Nick Woltemade, Kevin Danso cleared the German\u2019s header off the line.<\/p>\n
With a quarter of the game to go, Howe threw on Anthony Gordon and Anthony Elanga for Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy.<\/p>\n

Gordon converted powerfully but still the drama was not finished. Romero flew into the air in the 95th minute and met a Spurs corner. It was not the cleanest strike but it dribbled in, earning a precious point for the visitors.<\/p>\n
