Dave Coulier<\/a>, who announced last year that he has blood cancer<\/a>, has revealed that he’s being treated for a second type of the disease.<\/p>\n

The Full House<\/a> star opened up about the new diagnosis on the US Today show, confirming that he was recently diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer.<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old said his new cancer was discovered during a routine scan after going through seven months of chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

He beat stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma just seven months ago<\/a> and said his new diagnosis was “totally unrelated” to the previous cancer.<\/p>\n

“I went in for a PET scan, just a routine check up, and something flared on the PET scan,” Coulier told Today co-host Craig Melvin.<\/p>\n

“It turned out that I have P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue.”<\/p>\n

Coulier said that learning he had another cancer that wasn’t related to the original diagnosis was “a shock to the system.”<\/p>\n

“It’s been a roller coaster,” Coulier added.<\/p>\n

P16-positive cancer is caused by an infection with HPV-16, a type of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV), according to The American Cancer Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Fuller House star, who is best known for his role playing Uncle Joey, explained he has been undergoing radiation treatment for the new cancer, which will conclude at the end of December.<\/p>\n

Coulier was first diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in November 2024.<\/p>\n

\ufeffDespite the second cancer diagnosis in 12 months, he is remaining positive.<\/p>\n

He said the prognosis is good, as the new cancer has a high curability rate, but he also credits early detection. \ufeff<\/p>\n

“Early detection saved my life, not just the first time, but the second time as well,” he said.<\/p>\n
